The Lawn Odyssey

So, yes, after 12 long months, our lawn is finally green! It all got done this last Saturday, thanks to good friends and hard labor. So now, our HOA is happy, we are happy, and our lawn looks pretty! It only took months, and two failed attempts at seed, but we did it! Nowe we just cross our fingers and keep the sprinklers running...

From humble cleared dirt beginnings...

To a green Paradise! :)

Tiffany was very surprised when she came home. (Okay, so I only forced her to pose a little.)

While manly man Bob just rested from his labors with an air of satisfaction.

We thank our friends Jeff and Tamara and their girls for all their help! Without them, nothing would have been possible!

A slideshow, just for fun...

Yes, we are still alive

Hi Everybody! It has been a while, so I will give a few quick updates/ Nothing much happened, except Tiffany and I both got sick! I got it first and was nice enough to share. So she, has been sick the last few days. We are getting ready to go to a Trunk or Treat tonight, and have already had a busy Saturday. Bob got up early this morning to go with his Teachers to a service project, and then met Tiffany at Roadshow practice. Then, we came home, were wiped out, so we slept! Tiffany carved a great pumpkin, and Mugsy enjoyed eating the pumpkin pieces! I'll have some pictures soon! Happy Halloween!

Tranquility came...just not the way I expected

No, life hasn't changed much. In fact it is a little uber crazy some days. But, it is me that has changed. I have come to realize that God does have a plan, and its just not mine! :). So, I go through it, grateful for my blessings, and content-mostl;y-to trust in God and move forward.

Ahhh for tranquility to come

I hate front lawns and Saturdays I have to work and dogs that pee in my house! It just seems like today was a long day as I drove to work this morning hardly breathed at all there, drove home which took nearly two hours, then came home and had to face the laundry, a yard that needs re seeded so it is not a patch of dirt, and a puppy that likes to bite and still pees in the house. Then I just got irritable and easily provoked, which made things worse. Can't the world just freeze?

Okay, I'm done now. I realize I have a truly blessed life. I have a wonderful wife who loves me and will never leave me. We are not getting a divorce as sadly we have seen many of our friends do lately, which saddens me to no end. I have enough money to pay my bills and buy food. I have a job. I have a house. I have the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have many things others would love to have. I should be grateful. It's just been one of those afternoons.

Cars

So, our car is all fixed now, so I had to give up the 2009 Cadillac dts I was driving for a while. Actually, I gave that up after a few days cause it was 20.00 a day more expensive than the insurance covered, so I opted for a 2009 Camry instead. The place, was awesome! They even touched up old scratches! Though I am glad I didn't have to pay, I was still floored by the repair bill---3991.00! Crazy!

Anyhoo, all is well, and we are looking forward to Yellowstone!

I designate this week Accident week...

So, apparently it is our week for accidents. After a fun day at Sea World with Laura Cody and Max, we got sideswiped on the way home! The dude took off, we chased him down, and got his info...Luckily all is well, and only the Driver's side mirror was broken...no damage elsewhere. That would be enough for me, but I was driving home today and got hit in our other car! I was at a stop on the freeway and the car behind me stopped. However, the car behind him didn't. :( Luckily no one was hurt, and only a few minor dents and dings, which I shouldn't have to pay for. I'm just grateful everyone was okay. Missed Mutual though...oh well.

A Month later...

I just did a lesson for the young men young women of our ward on journal writing-I am the Teacher's quorum advisor
-so I thought I should practice what I preach and update our blog.

Mom and Dad Laney came for a visit to see our house. We enjoyed having them here, especially since Dad Laney likes to do our dishes and helped me weed the front and back yards!

We did have a fun trip around Easter time to Mom and Dad Laney's house. We hung out with them, went to the state capitol, Japantown in San Francisco, and an air museum, along with doing other stuff. Here are some pictures.

Catch up

So, the last couple of months I have been horrible at posting! Sorry! I won't try to catch up in detail, but here is some pictures, with more to follow

A picture of Tiffany, just because she is beautiful and loves it when I take random pictures.
Appropriate St Patrick's Day food.
Our cute and lovable and annoyingingly bitey puppy.

We took her and our niece Madison who was visiting for the weekend to the park. I am king of the world...with my royal puppy Mugsy!
Madison's reaction to my silliness...okay not really but it was funny.
Impishly cute

Walking homeA tuckered out little girl...all in all a fun time!

We also went on vacation lately and had my parents visit...I promise pictures of that to come.

Hi everybody!

This is just a little note to say hi and let you know we are still alive. Life moves along for us quite well, with the occasional hiccup, like me missing the last train home the other night but finally finding a very nice co-worker who took a three hour round trip to take me home! There was also Tiffany's lovely four 1/2 hour commute home the other night...mass transit is fun when it works, but sucks when it doesn't.

Other than that, life is good! We love our house, and are currently working on the front lawn that we bought dead so the HOA gets off our backs. We love them. Yes we do. Mugsy Pugsy Pee Poo Pants, which is mostly just Mugsy and occasionally Mugsy Pugsy, is about the same...we love her except when she bites us, especially our toes and faces. We are looking forward to a vacation next month to see my parents, and lookign forward to seeing some of y'all as you make Disneyland trips!

Update...again

So, I have been horrible at updating, so here's a snapshot of our lives...work, home to sleep to get up for work, etcetera. I am still working far away, as jobs are hard to find right now. Makes for rough days sometimes, but I am glad we have our house and are out of our apartment! We have bought a new couch and loveseat, and a washer and dryer, so we are happy!

We had a great time with Tiffany's birthday, and Valentine's day lately, and are still very much in love! Christmas was good too.

Bob even managed to put up some drapes that had been sitting around forever...by himself! Impressive I know.

On a happy note, we have added to our home...with a dog! A cute little sharpei Pug mix named Mugsy, or if you'd like her full name, Mugsy Pugsy pee pee PooPoo Pants(or Bottom, we haven't decided.) The name comes from her puppy like trait of peeing and pooing everywhere but where we want her to. She is a little terror, but we love her! So enjoy the pictures!
